The Superintendent is "the do-work" component of the team. This hands-on role is instrumental in the success of the project. This person must possess the technical knowledge in the various construction trades and also be versatile in managing and supervising. Understanding of the "nuts and bolts" of the project and the ability to anticipate the schedule needs/requirements well in advance are pivotal in keeping the project on schedule. Responsible for inspections, conducting weekly foreman meetings, safety meetings, daily job reports, review job cost reports, (3) week look ahead schedules, MSDS/safety manuals/logs, and be sensitive to the owners concerns during the construction phase. Field leadership ability must be positive and proactive at all times.
