(September 22, 2007) Mark Stevens of Stevens Construction Inc .has been named the Contractor of the Year by the Lee Building Industry Association (BIA) at it’s second annual Summit Awards banquet. The Summit Award recognizes commercial contractors who have obtained an outstanding level of success and demonstrated superior professionalism in the commercial construction industry

Orlando area professionals representing the commercial construction industry judged each commercial contractor on their ethical behavior, leadership skills, management capabilities, safety programs and records. In addition, the company’s professional accomplishments, customer relations practices, internal relations, and community involvement were also evaluated.

In 2006, Stevens Construction built more than $28 million in commercial projects and secured approximately $40 million in projects for 2007. The majority of this work is negotiated construction management – earned through a reputation for ethical business practices, superior management ability, quality results, turnkey service and time/cost efficiency. Based in Fort Myers, Florida, the company has completed projects throughout the state as far north as Sebring and south to Naples.

In addition to leading his company, Mark serves on the Lee BIA Board of Directors and is the Chairman of the Commercial Contractors Council for the BIA. He also serves on the Shady Rest Care Pavilion’s board of directors, and is active in many other organizations.

A specialist in healthcare construction, he has attended 13 annual Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) seminars.
