Dr. Ralph Garramone selected Stevens Construction for the extensive renovation of an existing, dilapidated, two-story facility into his lavish, 9,100 square-foot plastic surgery office.

Located at 12998 S. Cleveland Avenue, the renovation of the former bank building had already been started by another construction firm, however when the project was at 20% completion, that firm was terminated from the project and construction was put on hold. When Stevens Construction was hired to complete the project, the building had been deemed structurally insufficient by local building officials which stopped the project.

Stevens Construction immediately engaged with a structural engineer to design a solution for the structural deficiencies. Tube steel columns were added within the interior walls and stiffeners added to the bar joist to carry the load of the second floor and the planned additional load of the marble flooring before the work could resume.

To ensure a seamless transition and minimal delays, Stevens Construction negotiated with many subcontractors originally contracted to complete the project as cost efficiently as possible.

The former bank building is now an ulta-modern plastic surgery office with spa and wellness areas. Garramone Plastic Surgery features seven exam rooms, seven skin care rooms, procedure room, administrative offices and a central atrium with skylight.

Upon entering the building, guests are greeted with white marble 36”x36” flooring, a unique, curved bubbled wall with custom banquet seating complete with LED lighting. The reception includes a custom glass countertop and LED lighting beneath the desk, reflecting upon the marble floor. The central atrium also boasts a skylight providing expansive, natural lighting throughout.

On the second floor, an exquisite bubble glass chandelier welcomes those entering the foyer and the spa lobby. The spa reception showcases round, stainless steel, inverted wall displays while providing a view below with the expansive glass walls. The white marble flooring continues on the second floor creating a beautiful contrast to the dark wood doors into the spa rooms.

“The end result exceeds my expectations, which were set when I first saw this building over two years ago. We are back to our full schedule, and looking forward to adding more services to accommodate our patients.”
