Lee County partnered with Stevens Construction for the construction of the 15,000 square foot EMS facility to house two Medstar helicopters, ambulances and supporting facilities.

The Hangar serves as an emergency command control center in the event of severe storms and hurricanes.  The facility is designed for 150 MPH wind rating and contains a backup emergency generator with a 1,800 gallon tank capable of accommodating the entire facility for extended periods.

The main office is comprised of crew quarters, training rooms, conference areas, full kitchen, transfer center and dispatch stations.  The Hangar consists of offices, parts room, laundry facilities, mezzanine storage and floor space to accommodate two Medstar helicopters.  There is also an apparatus bay to house two EMS ambulances.

The Hangar is located within Page Field Airport, an already existing airport, requiring the utmost security precautions.  All crane and equipment movement more than 20’ high had to be coordinated with the flight tower who had to grant clearance before construction could proceed.

“From the pre-construction phase to project completion, the Stevens Construction team provided excellent communication, cost-savings suggestions and complete dedication to make certain that our needs were addressed.”
