Village On The Isle, a faith-based, not-for-profit life plan community in Venice, engaged Stevens Construction nearly three years ago with a goal
of providing a more residential-like experience for their assisted living residents, and add a new memory care support program. Stevens
Construction worked with Village On The Isle (VOTI) and the design team for twelve months through preconstruction evaluating the needs and preferences of VOTI’s team and helping offer the best solutions to care and support its residents. Stevens Construction also provided cost savings suggestions that did not compromise the experience for those served. Also, each phase of the design enabled the team to maintain a real-time budget, schedule, and quality measurement of the original design.
Stevens Construction recently completed the renovation of the five-story, 80,000-square-foot building, known as The Lofts at Village On The Isle, which included gutting each floor’s interior and exterior walls, one floor at a time. The construction work was performed while residents occupied other floors in the building. The project required precise coordination with VOTI’s staff and residents to minimize disruption and safety risks, where residents could continue to
enjoy life to its fullest, and staff were least inconvenienced in their daily work. The final outcome is more modernized common areas, abundant natural lighting and cutting-edge technology. Additionally, the resident’s floor plans were re-invented and six new floor plan options were introduced and are now situated as neighborhoods that include community space on every floor for dining, activities and social opportunities, beauty spa and salon, and a staff room
for medical documentation and storage.
The dedicated Memory Care support floor, or household, features advanced technology to ensure the safety of the residents as they enjoy their well-appointed residences with an urgent response system and other customized programs and amenities that support those with cognitive challenges.
