Stevens Construction has promoted Troy Hernly to vice president of central Florida, announced Mark Stevens, company president.

In his new role, Hernly will have overall responsibility for the development of new projects; and oversee operations and delivery of construction in the company’s Tampa and Orlando locations.

“Troy has proven his superior management skills in the nine years he has been part of our senior management team, he has more than earned this position,” said Mark Stevens.

Joining the company in 2006 as director of construction, Hernly has completed more than 575,000-square-feet of construction for the company. He has led all construction projects out of the company’s Orlando and Tampa offices since 2012, including a 202,732-square-foot renovation of the Florida Hospital Tampa and The Oasis Club at ChampionsGate, an 18,000-square-foot clubhouse in Orlando.

Hernly has earned a certificate in Health Care Construction from the American Society for Healthcare Engineering and a certificate for Infection Control Risk Assessment, a hospital educational program for contractors and healthcare engineers.
