FORT MYERS, Fla. (August 5, 2019) –Stevens Construction has won an Aurora Award at the Southeast Builder’s Conference. The Aurora Awards honor the best in construction in a 12-state region.

In a ceremony held on August 2 in Orlando, Stevens Construction earned an Aurora Award in the best commercial project over 20,000-square-feet category for the Gulf Coast Medical Center Skilled Nursing Unit in Fort Myers. Completed in January of 2019 for Lee Health, the three-story, 75-bed facility has three units; each with an open concept living room, kitchen, nurse station and 25-private patient beds with convenient access to a 3,000-square-foot therapy gym.

The Stevens Construction team included project executive, Dan Adams; project manager, Mike Brooks; superintendents, JJ Slaugh and Joe Cimilluca and project administrator, Angie Sugg. Architectural services were provided by Studio +.

Entries were judged on design, quality of construction, unusual constraints, cost savings techniques and outstanding features.
